My brother in law was the one who convinced me to buy the 8060X. It was actually a hard decision for me, because my last two shavers have been Panasonic models.

To tell the truth, I kind of liked the panasonic shavers. However, my last one was getting a little "long in the tooth", so I decided to try out the Philips Norelco 8060X.

Well, I tried my brother in law's 8060X, and I was TOTALLY sold! The same day, I went online and got 26.00 off list from Amazon.com, plus free shipping, and the rest was history!

My first impression of this model is that it is better looking than my old Panasonic models. It is smaller than some of the other models I looked at, and felt great in my hand. I also liked the shade of blue, and the fact that it did not take up too much space on my sink.

As I stated earlier, the handle of the8060X is quite a bit smaller than other shavers that I have tried, and is simple to hold and feels great.

The 8060X hugs your hand like a race car hugs the curves of the track. The ON/OFF button and Moisturizer dispenser are placed well, making them easy to locate without having to look at the unit.

I've shaved with the Norelco 8060X dry, using the Moisturizer, as well as in the Shower. The Philips Norelco 8060X was perfect in each situation!

I was also pleasantly surprised at how quiet this model is. MUCH quieter than either of my Panasonic shavers. My gosh, they sounded like a power boat going by every time I shaved!

It is remarkably easy to put the NIVEA moisturizer cartridge in the top back of the unit. All you do is twist it in place. The front of the Stand displays when the cartridge is empty.

It is obvious where the razor belongs in the front, just push back till you hear a click. Instantly, the 8060X starts to refill the razor with moisturizing cream and charges it. The unit can also be refilled manually, should the need arise.

In the newer Philips/Norelco shavers you have three shaving heads. However, with the Norelco 8060X, the heads are free floating.

They are actually free floating because they are totally independent from each other. This provides a shave that really hugs the curvature of your face. I really noticed this around my adam’s apple where I found that it really adapts to my face, and creates a much closer shave.
